The Bridge

Focused three-session programmes for phobias and single-incident trauma.

You don't need months of therapy to begin changing the way your brain responds to fear.

Fear is designed to protect you. But sometimes the brain continues to respond as though you're still in danger, even when you know you're safe.

Whether that's a fear of flying, driving or spiders, or a distressing event that still feels emotionally close, The Bridge is a structured three-session therapeutic programme designed to help your brain and nervous system update outdated fear responses, so you can move forward with greater calm, confidence and freedom

The Bridge: Phobia Programme

If a specific fear is stopping you from living life as you want to - whether that's flying, driving, medical or dental procedures, spiders, dogs or another identifiable fear, this programme is designed to help.

I know what it's like to live with a phobia.

For most of my life, I was terrified of spiders. Not just uneasy around them, I would do everything I could to avoid them, and if one appeared unexpectedly, I'd panic.

Eventually, I decided enough was enough and worked with a hypnotherapist.

Today, I can happily hold a tarantula.

That experience changed more than my relationship with spiders. It showed me that even long-standing fears can change.

It's one of the reasons I specialise in this work. I know how exhausting and limiting a phobia can be, and I know how life can open up again when that fear no longer controls you.

This programme may be suitable if:

  • You have a clear, identifiable fear or phobia.

  • You avoid specific situations because of fear or panic.

  • Your reaction feels out of proportion to the actual level of danger.

  • One dominant fear is affecting an otherwise stable day-to-day life.

What Clients Say

I had been terrified of dogs for over 30 years and couldn’t imagine that changing. Even the thought of being around a dog caused anxiety.

After two sessions, I found myself sitting through a meal with a dog nearby and being more focused on the conversation than the dog.

Since completing the sessions, I’ve become much more comfortable around dogs and situations that would previously have been impossible for me.

It’s genuinely changed my day-to-day life.

Naveen

For many years I had a strong fear of flying, with tears and panic attacks being a regular part of travel.

I went for hypnotherapy feeling a little cynical that it would help, but decided it was worth trying.

After two sessions and listening to a personalised self-hypnosis recording, I was able to go on a flight and, for the first time in years, I felt calm. I even relaxed, watched a film, and enjoyed the journey.

It exceeded my expectations.

Charlotte

I had a severe fear of spiders that had started to take over my life. I was avoiding parts of my home and constantly on edge.

After three sessions of hypnotherapy with Jen and listening to a personalised recording, my response to spiders changed completely.

I can now be in my home without fear and feel in control of my reactions. Even when I did encounter a spider during the process, my reaction was totally different to how it would have been before.

I still don’t like spiders, but I no longer have a phobia.

The Bridge: Trauma Programme

If a distressing memory from a specific event continues to affect you, still carrying emotional intensity or surfacing when you least expect it - this programme is designed to help.

This programme may be suitable if:

  • A single, identifiable event still feels emotionally "live".

  • Certain reminders trigger anxiety or distress.

  • You can recognise a clear "before and after" relationship with what happened.

The Bridge: Trauma Programme is most suitable when you're struggling with the impact of a specific distressing event.

If your difficulties stem from more complex or longstanding trauma, you're still very welcome to get in touch. During your discovery call, we'll explore what's been happening and decide together whether this focused programme is the best fit, or whether a different therapeutic approach would be more beneficial.

Real change often looks surprisingly ordinary.

Sometimes the biggest success isn't feeling brave.

It's being able to think about what happened without your body responding as though you're still there..

How The Bridge Works

Both programmes follow the same structured three-session process.

Session One: Understanding the Fear

We'll explore how your fear response developed, what triggers it and what keeps it active today. This gives us clarity, ensures we're targeting the right problem and prepares you for the therapeutic work ahead.

Session Two: Updating the Fear Response

We'll work directly with the fear response using gentle, evidence-informed therapeutic techniques that don't require you to relive the event or repeatedly talk through what happened

Session Three: Consolidating the Change

We'll review what's changed, strengthen the progress you've made and address any remaining barriers. Together we'll help you begin trusting the changes in everyday life, not just within the therapy room.

What could be different?

  • Imagine booking the flight without weeks of dread.

  • Imagine attending a medical appointment feeling calm.

  • Imagine walking past the dog without crossing the road.

  • Imagine thinking about what happened without feeling pulled back into it.

  • Imagine getting on with your life without fear calling the shots.

About Jen

I'm Jen, a Cognitive Hypnotherapist working with anxiety, phobias and trauma-related fear responses.

I trained in Cognitive Hypnotherapy and Human Givens-informed techniques because I wanted an approach that respects how stuck people feel — not one that asks you to push through fear or relive your past in detail before anything changes.

I've watched people come in feeling like a fear or a memory has been running their life for years, and leave feeling like themselves again. That's the work I care about, and it's why I do it.

Is The Bridge Right For You?

The Bridge is designed for people experiencing:

  • A specific phobia or fear

  • A distressing memory linked to a single identifiable event

It may not be the most appropriate approach if:

  • Difficulties are long-standing and rooted in early relationships

  • Trauma is complex, repeated or developmental

  • Anxiety is generalised across many areas of life

If that sounds more like your experience, that's genuinely useful to know before we start and it just means a different way of working will likely serve you better. I also offer longer-term, trauma-informed therapeutic work for difficulties like these, and we can talk through what that could look like on your discovery call.

Either way, your discovery call is designed to make sure you end up with the right support whether that's The Bridge or something else.

Ready to Cross the Bridge?

If fear has been limiting your life, you don't have to continue managing it alone.

Book a free, no-obligation discovery call and we'll talk through what's been happening, answer your questions and decide together whether The Bridge is the right next step for you.

A Few Things People Ask:

The Bridge is designed for specific fears, phobias and distressing memories linked to a particular event. If you're unsure whether it's the right fit, we'll discuss your situation during the free discovery call and decide together.

No. You won't be asked to repeatedly relive or describe the event. We'll work at a pace that feels manageable, using approaches that don't require you to revisit every detail - though if you'd find it helpful to talk things through, there's space for that too.

The Bridge is a structured three-session programme, and most people complete it within that time. We'll always review your progress together, and if any further support would help, we'll discuss that separately.

Some people benefit from a longer-term therapeutic approach rather than a focused programme. If your experiences involve more complex or longstanding difficulties, we'll discuss the most appropriate options during your discovery call. If The Bridge isn't the right fit, I'll explain why and recommend a more suitable approach

Yes, where appropriate. I integrate Cognitive Hypnotherapy and other evidence-informed approaches to support the therapeutic process. Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention, and you'll remain aware and in control throughout.

The Bridge works just as well online as in person. Cognitive hypnotherapy and the other approaches I use translate naturally to video calls. If you'd prefer to meet in person, I see clients at two locations in London.

It's a relaxed, no-obligation 20 - 30 minute conversation that takes place on Zoom. You'll have the chance to tell me a little about what's been happening, ask any questions, and decide together whether The Bridge feels like the right next step.
